Bennett, Dumont help Bulldogs rout Americans in matinee action

HAMILTON - A couple of 2009 Montreal Canadiens draft picks led the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 6-1 rout of the Rochester Americans in the annual school-day game at FirstOntario Centre on Tuesday.
Defenceman Mac Bennett had a goal and was named player of the game while forward Gabriel Dumont had a goal and two assists for the Habs' top minor-league affiliate.
Winger Daniel Carr had two goals and an assist. Tim Schaller scored the only goal of the game for the Americans (6-4-0-0).
Joey MacDonald stopped 22 of the 23 shots he faced for the victory as the Bulldogs improved to 4-4-2-0.
Bennett was selected by the Habs with the 79th overall pick in 2009. Dumont was taken with the 139th overall selection.
