Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jared Boll will have a phone hearing on Thursday for his hit on Pierre-Edouard Bellemare of the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.

Early in the second period, Boll hit Bellemare inside the Flyers' blueline and was assessed a major penalty for interference and a game misconduct on the play.

Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella disagreed with the ejection of Boll

"That’s a good check," said Tortorella after the game. "You don’t want to see anybody hurt, but that’s not a head shot. Was it late? Yes. So that’s a 2 minute interference call."

Ryan White came to the defence of Bellemare and was assessed a minor penalty for roughing.
