BOSTON - The Boston Bruins signed restricted free agents Torey Krug and Reilly Smith on Monday.

Both players received one-year contracts worth $1.4 million.

TSN hockey analyst Aaron Ward tweeted Monday morning that Krug will be paid $900,000 in salary with a $500,000 signing bonus.

Krug, 23, played 79 games for the Bruins last season and led all NHL rookie defensemen in goals (14), assists (26) and points (40).

The 23-year-old Smith arrived in Boston as part of the Tyler Seguin trade with the Dallas Stars in July 2013. The forward is coming off a tremendous campaign in which he racked up 20 goals and 31 assists for 51 points over 82 games -- all career highs.
