Chester, PA - Teal Bunbury came off the bench to score a goal and assist on another as the New England Revolution rallied for a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Union at PPL Park on Sunday.

Cristian Maidana's 42nd-minute goal had the Union in front at halftime, but Bunbury provided a huge spark off the bench when he entered the match in the 61st minute.

He set up the equalizer for Charlie Davies three minutes after stepping onto the field, and he netted the winner in the 76th for the Revs, who snapped a four-game winless skid with the victory.

The Union asked most of the questions in the first half and Fernando Aristeguieta came within inches of opening the scoring in the 16th minute when he redirected a shot on target from a few yards. However, New England goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth reacted quickly and got his foot on the ball, deflecting it off the crossbar.

There was nothing Shuttleworth could do in the 42nd, however, as Maidana lined up a free kick from 30 yards and curled his shot over the wall and off the right post past the diving netminder.

C.J. Sapong went close with a header for the hosts early in the second half, but New England began to take over after that, with the introduction of Bunbury playing a big part.

He helped the Revs level the match in the 64th by beating a defender on the right wing and driving a ball into the six-yard box for Davies, who applied the finishing touch.

Diego Fagundez was the architect of the winning goal when he delivered a pinpoint cross to the front of goal for Bunbury, who got a step on his defender and beat Union goalkeeper John McCarthy with a first-time effort.

The Union tried to respond a few minutes later, but the Revs defended resolutely as Lee Nguyen cleared a header off the goal line before London Woodberry blocked the rebound attempt as it was headed for the corner of the net.
