Looking to bounce back after the first two losses of his MMA career, Canadian Chad Laprise will face France's Thibault Gouti in a lightweight contest at UFC Vancouver on August 27th, UFC Canada announced on Monday.

After winning the first 10 fights of his career, Laprise suffered a first round, TKO defeat to Francisco Trinaldo in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in August of 2015.  His most recent bout was a split decision loss to Ross Pearson in March in Brisbane, Australia which he accepted on one week's notice after Pearson's original opponent was forced off the card.

The Chatham, Ontario native is an Ultimate Fighter winner and has a 3-2 record in his UFC career.

Laprise said at UFC Ottawa that he "Had his fingers crossed" for a place on the Vancouver card, the UFC's second stop in Canada in 2016.

Gouti also enters the fight on a two match losing streak, his last fight was a third round, rear-naked choke submission loss to Canadian Olivier Aubin-Mercier at UFC Ottawa.

The Toulouse, France native won 11 straight fights before his first loss to Teemu Packalen in February.

UFC Vancouver will take place at Rogers Arena on August 27th and will feature fights including Anthony Pettis taking on Charles Oliveira and Paige VanZant making her return to the Octagon against Bec Rawlings.
