TORONTO — Stephen (Wonderboy) Thompson has replaced Rory (Red King) MacDonald as the UFC's No. 1 welterweight contender after his weekend win over the Canadian.

MacDonald (18-4-0) fell to No. 2 in the rankings.

Thompson (13-1-0) won a unanimous five-round decision over MacDonald, a native of Kelowna, B.C., who fights out of Montreal, on Saturday in Ottawa.

MacDonald's future with the UFC is uncertain given the Thompson fight was the last on his current contract. He may also need surgery to repair a broken nose.

Montreal's Valerie (Trouble) Letourneau also fell down the rankings, dropping four places to No. 9 among strawweight contenders after losing to Joanne (JoJo) Calderwood at 125 pounds on the weekend. Calderwood moved up five places to No. 7 in the 115-pound rankings.

Strawweight Randa Markos of Windsor, Ont., climbed one spot to No. 13 after her win over Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger.
