Each week, we'll look at players with favourable matchups or those that may otherwise present good value for TSN Fantasy Football, CFL edition, presented by Moores.

This week features players that at the moment are bargains, but that also have the potential to have a greater impact moving forward.

Drew Willy, QB, Winnipeg – The pivot looks comfortable under new offensive coordinator Paul LaPolice, and ranks second in both passing yards and completion percentage. Last week, facing a tough and physical Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ defense, Willy completed 32 of 42 passes for 279 yards and one touchdown. He also completed passes to seven different receivers. This week against the Edmonton Eskimos’ defense, who have struggled against the pass, Willy could be a perfect pick in fantasy. In their first two games the Eskimos have given up an average of 430 passing yards and 40.5 points. All this screams value, especially when you consider that Willy is the week’s cheapest starting quarterback option.

Nik Lewis, WR, Montreal – The 13-year veteran turned back the clock two weeks ago. He caught nine passes for 114 yards against the Ottawa Redblacks. It marked the first time since Week 12 of 2012 when Lewis was part of the Calgary Stampeders that he passed the century mark in a game. In both of those games,Kevin Glenn was throwing the passes. With star receiver S.J. Green out the entire 2016 campaign, this could be only the beginning. The receiver is reasonably priced compared to other receivers.

Nic Grigsby, RB, Ottawa – With William Powell and Travon Van on the shelf, the Redblacks brought in Grigsby on July 4th. Just  four days later, the running back put up 103 total yards (65 rushing, and 38 receiving) in his first game since September of last year. The 27-year-old has averaged five yards per carry in his career. This week’s opponent, the Argos, have given up an average of 97 rushing yards the past two games.

Cory Watson, WR, Edmonton – In the 2015 season, the Eskimos had a triple threat in Adarius Bowman, Derel Walker and Kenny Stafford. With Stafford going to Montreal, Watson has the opportunity to fill that void. In Week 3 he took a step in the right direction, catching seven passing for 118 yards. Truly anything is possible when Morgan Reilly is throwing the passes. Watson is a cheap selection at the wide receiver position in fantasy.

Jace Davis, WR, Winnipeg – In the first three weeks of the season, the rookie has been making a name for himself: he’s second on the team in receptions (18) and yards (205). The Northern Colorado product was Willy’s main target in last week’s victory against the Tiger-Cats with eight catches for 74 yards. Going up against an Eskimos defense who has been unable to stop the passing attack, this could be another opportunity for Willy and Davis to work on their chemistry. The 24-year- old is also the cheapest wide-out you can purchase.

Brett Maher, K, Hamilton – With the offense turning the ball over five times the previous week against the Blue Bombers, Maher didn’t get many opportunities to help out fantasy owners. If the Tiger-Cats can reduce the number of turnovers this week against the Montreal Alouettes, one should expect a couple more chances to follow. Under Head Coach Kent Austin, the offense isn’t likely to continue this trend for very long. The price tag attached to Maher is the lowest among active kickers.
