Canada’s world junior hockey team got a couple scares in their first pre-tournament game Saturday against Belarus.
Centre Brayden Point was hurt late in the second period and did not play in the third for what Hockey Canada called a “precautionary” move.
Lawson Crouse took a slap shot off the foot late in the game and hobbled off gingerly, but head coach Dave Lowry said he would be “fine” in the post-game news conference.
Canada beat Belarus 7-1 in Saturday's game.
Both Point and Crouse played on last year’s World Junior team that beat Russia in the gold medal game.
