The first round of the NFL Draft will take place on Thursday night and the Cleveland Browns are on the clock. Keep up to date with the latest news and reports with TSN.ca's draft rumours.

Eyeing an Arm?

Defensive lineman Myles Garrett has been atop all draft boards since January, yet the Cleveland Browns have yet to decide whether to take the star pass rusher, or pick their quarterback of the future.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns are still seriously considering picking North Carolina QB Mitchell Trubisky with the first overall pick on Thursday.

Cabot reports the San Francisco 49ers are also interested in Trubisky, meaning the Browns don't take him at one, he could be gone by pick No. 2. The Browns owns the 12th overall pick in the draft as well, but it appears unlikely Trubisky could fall to that spot.

Trubisky spent just one season as a starter at North Carolina. He posted a 68.2 per cent completion percentage last season while throwing for 3,748 yards with 30 touchdowns and six interceptions.

The Browns currently have Brock Osweiller, Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan on their roster at quarterback.

Falling Fast

NFL Network Analyst Mike Mayock is reporting that the fastest player in the history of the NFL Scouting Combine won't be on some teams boards come draft day due to injury concerns.

Washington Huskies wide reciever John Ross, who ran a record breaking 4.22 in the 40-yard dash, may be a risk because of the injuries he's sustained over his young career. The 22-year-old has had surgery on his shoulder and on both knees.

There is also durability concerns due to his small frame. He stands at 5-foot-11, 188 pounds.

Even though Ross might be a draft scratch for some teams, he's still expected to be selected at some point in the first round.

Over Cooked?

According to a report from Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, there's a growing sense only two running backs will be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday. Those two backs are expected to be LSU standout Leonard Fournette and Stanford star Christian McCaffery.

That means Florida State running back Dalvin Cook, who's been consistently mocked to be picked in the first round, may not hear his name called Thursday night.

Cook had an underwhelming showing at the scouting combine and his stock as suffered since. Zurlein notes character and durability issues are also hurting Cook's first-round chances.

Cook posted a 6.1 yards per carry average last season while rushing for 1,765 yards and 19 touchdowns. He added 33 receptions for 488 yards and a touchdown.
