Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Matt Every outlasted Henrik Stenson to successfully defend his title at the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Sunday and that victory propelled him up to No. 40 in the world rankings.

Every, who's lone two wins on the PGA Tour have now come at the same event, jumped 56 spots from No. 96 to No. 40 in the world.

Rory McIlroy finished tied for 11th in his third PGA Tour start of the season, and while his average points dipped by 0.23, the Ulsterman is still in firm control of the No. 1 ranking.

Stenson, who finished runner-up and earned his third consecutive top-10 finish, moved up one and back to No. 2 after a couple weeks in the third spot. Stenson swapped spots with Bubba Watson, who fell one to No. 3.

Jason Day and Adam Scott also traded places, with Day up to four and Scott falling to five.

The remainder of the top-16 stayed the same. Jordan Spieth, Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler, Martin Kaymer, Jimmy Walker, Matt Kuchar, Patrick Reed and Hideki Matsuyama are Nos. 6-16 once again.

Victory Dubuisson improved two spots to No. 17, which dropped Billy Horschel and Brooks Koepka down one each and they are now 18 and 19, respectively. J.B. Holmes stayed put at No. 20.
