Off-season free-agent signing Jaime Garcia was solid on the mound Friday afternoon, allowing just two hits with three strikeouts and zero walks over five scoreless innings as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-4 in spring training action from Clearwater.

The Jays signed the 31-year-old hurler to a one-year, $8 million contract last month.

Josh Donaldson returned to the hot corner and recorded a single in three at-bats in his first game since leaving Saturday's contest due to dehydration.

Second baseman Devon Travis went 0-4 with three strikeouts, Kendrys Morales picked up two hits and Russell Martin added an RBI on the afternoon.

Outfielder Jonathan Davis hit his first homer of the spring in the eighth inning.

Marcus Stroman, who has been sidelined since late February, will get the start against the Canadian National Junior Team on Saturday in Dunedin.
