H2k-Gaming proved much too strong for Unicorns of Love in a 3-1 series win to secure a third-place finish in the European League Championship Series Summer Split.

The win puts H2K one step closer to a berth at Worlds. If G2 Esports defeats Splyce in the EU LCS final on Sunday, H2K will clinch a spot based on Championship Points. A Splyce upset of G2 would force H2K into the regional qualifiers.

H2K opened the series with patience and carefully timed aggression. They consistently pushed UoL back towards their towers but didn’t overreach and put themselves in harm’s way.

UoL’s best bet came in the bottom lane and kept them in the opener for much of the match, but the rest of the rift began to crack and H2k continued their steady march toward victory.

UoL had a strong response in Game 2 after a champion select bug delayed the start of the match. H2K took an early lead, but gave up control of the map after UoL earned an ace and took the Baron as a result. The snowball continued and the series was tied before the 40-minute mark of the second game.

H2K exploded in Game 3 and destroyed UoL with 17 kills to three. Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu set the tone and led the way with a 3/0/10 KDA on Shen as H2K moved within a win of third place in just 29 minutes.

Game 4 lasted just 33 minutes as H2K cruised to the series victory.

UoL is still alive in the hunt for a berth at Worlds and will compete in the European regional gauntlet.
