ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 23 shots he faced as the St. John's IceCaps blanked the Toronto Marlies 2-0 on Tuesday night in American Hockey League action.

Patrice Cormier's short-handed goal in the second period was the eventual winner for St. John's (5-8-5), the farm team of the Winnipeg Jets. Eric O'Dell scored into an empty net in the last minute of play for some insurance.

Christopher Gibson made 20 saves for Toronto (5-8-1), the AHL affiliate of the Maple Leafs.

The IceCaps did not score on their five power plays, while the Marlies went 0 for 4 with the man advantage.
