Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - A swollen right knee has landed struggling Cleveland Indians pitcher Justin Masterson on the 15-day disabled list.

The Indians made the move one day after Masterson was tagged for five runs in two-plus innings in Monday's loss to the New York Yankees, an effort which raised the 2013 American League All-Star's season earned run average to 5.51.

Masterson has failed to last more than four innings in any of his last three starts, during which he's produced a 13.00 ERA and issued 10 walks in a nine- inning span.

The 6-foot-6 right-hander won a career-best 14 games a year ago while recording a solid 3.45 ERA and 195 strikeouts over 32 appearances (29 starts).

Reliever Nick Hagadone was recalled from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move. The Indians also selected the contact of catcher Roberto Perez from the Clippers and optioned outfielder Tyler Holt to Columbus.

Hagadone pitched in six games with the Indians earlier this season, permitting a pair of runs over three innings. Perez was hitting .305 with eight homers and 43 RBI over 53 games at Columbus.
