The New York Jets have looked north to add depth to their defensive unit. The Jets signed former Edmonton Eskimos cornerback John Ojo to a contract on Friday.

The 27-year-old American missed all of last season with the Eskimos after he ruptured his right Achilles during the preseason.

During his rookie campaign in 2015, Ojo put up great numbers including 41 defensive tackles, five interceptions and one touchdown as Edmonton would go on to beat the Ottawa Redblacks in the Grey Cup.

The Florida A&M product was also named a CFL All-Star in 2015.
