Kichton scores SO winner as IceCaps edge Tigers
Brenden Kichton scored the winner in the eighth round of the shootout and Connor Hellebucyk stopped 38-of-39 shots as the St. John's IceCaps slipped past the visiting Bridgeport Sound Tigers 2-1 on Saturday in American Hockey League play.

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Brenden Kichton scored the winner in the eighth round of the shootout and Connor Hellebucyk stopped 38-of-39 shots as the St. John's IceCaps slipped past the visiting Bridgeport Sound Tigers 2-1 on Saturday in American Hockey League play.
Chase Balisy scored at 6:43 of the third period to give the IceCaps (3-2-3) a 1-0 lead.
Jesse Graham responded for the Sound Tigers (3-2-1) less than two minutes later to force extra time.
Kevin Poulin made 38 saves for Bridgeport.
St. John's went 0 for 3 on the power play while the Sound Tigers failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.
