ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Brad Self had three goals and three assists and Dan Dawson scored the winner with 37 seconds remaining as the Rochester Knighthawks edged the Toronto Rock 10-9 on Saturday to take Game 1 of the National Lacrosse League's East Division final.

The NLL divisional finals are a best-of-two series. If the series is tied after two games a mini-game will be held immediately after the conclusion of Game 2, which is set for Toronto on May 23.

"I don't think anything changes here," said Rock head coach John Lovell. "Whoever wins Game 2 of this series is going to win it."

Craig Point had a hat trick and Jordan Hall scored once and added four helpers for the Knighthawks, who have won the past three Champion's Cups. Cory Vitarelli and Joe Resetarits rounded out the offence.

Brett Hickey led the Rock with three goals and two assists while Rob Hellyer and Kasey Beirnes added a pair of goals apiece. Stephan Leblanc had a goal and three assists and Colin Doyle tacked on a single goal.

Rochester's Matt Vinc made 35 saves for the win as Brandon Miller allowed 10 goals on 57 shots for Toronto.

The Knighthawks power play went 0 for 2 while the Rock scored on their only chance with the man advantage.

Toronto finished the regular season as the top club in the NLL with a 14-4 record while Rochester, which finished 12-6, handed Toronto two of its losses.

The Edmonton Rush beat the Calgary Roughnecks 10-8 on Friday in Game 1 of the West Division final.
