The BC Lions announced on Thursday night that owner David Braley had been admitted to hospital.

"BC Lions owner David Braley has been in Vancouver visiting with club executives since Monday," said club CEO Dennis Skulsky in a statement. "Over the past couple of days, he had been feeling a little under the weather and this morning was admitted to hospital to undergo further testing."

A Canadian Football Hall of Famer, Braley, 74, has owned the Lions since 1997.

From 1987 to 1990, the Montreal native was owner of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 2010, Braley became owner of the Toronto Argonauts before the selling the team to Bell Media and Larry Tanenbaum last May.

Under Braley, the Lions have won four Grey Cups, most recently in 2012.
