SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Toronto Marlies forward T.J. Brennan captured the Eddie Shore Award on Tuesday as the American Hockey League's top defenceman.

It's the second time in three years that Brennan has received the award.

He had 24 goals and 43 assists in 67 games this season with Toronto.

The seventh-year pro has appeared in 441 career AHL games with Portland, Rochester, Toronto and Rockford, registering 112 goals and 206 assists.

He has also recorded five goals and eight assists in 53 career NHL games. Brennan was a second-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 2007.
