TORONTO - Greg McKegg scored twice — including the winner 5:50 into overtime — as the Toronto Marlies edged the visiting Lake Erie Monsters 2-1 on Friday in American Hockey League action.

McKegg's second of the night and 16th of the season came while playing 3-on-3.

Christopher Gibson stopped 28-of-29 shots for the Marlies (29-24-9), who are now just two points behind the Hamilton Bulldogs for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Andrew Agozzino supplied the offence for the Monsters (27-25-10), who are on a three-game slide.

Lake Erie's Calvin Pickard turned away 33-of-35 shots in a losing cause.

Both clubs went 0 for 3 on the power play.
