ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Jeremy Morin and Matt Taormina had two goals apiece to lead the Syracuse Crunch past the St. John's IceCaps 6-2 on Tuesday in American Hockey League action.

Max Friberg and Mike Halmo also scored for the Crunch (11-5-1), while Adam Wilcox made 20 saves for the win. Morin's second goal was the eventual winner.

Julien Brouillette and Max Friberg replied for the IceCaps (10-10-1), the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. Charlie Lindgren stopped 24 shots in net for St. John's.

It was an undisciplined game, with Syracuse taking 34 minutes of penalties and the IceCaps spending 73 minutes in the box. St. John's players Jonathan Racine, Jeremy Gregoire and Jonathan Racine all earned misconducts, as did Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond of the Crunch.

Syracuse went 2 for 8 on the power play while the IceCaps were 2 for 4 with the man advantage.
