Toronto Maple Leafs prospect William Nylander broke a tie in the second period as Sweden defeated the Czech Republic 5-2 at the world junior championship Friday night.

Adrian Kempe had a pair of goals for Sweden with Jens Looke and Jacob de la Rose also finding the back of the net.

Jakub Vrana replied with two goals for the Czech Republic in the second.

Linus Soderstrom got the win in net for Sweden making 27 saves. Vitek Vanecek took the loss, turning aside 22 shots.

Sweden scored twice on five power-play chances while the Czech Republic was scoreless on four opportunities.
