SAGINAW, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit are finally back in the win column.

Jesse Barwell scored twice and added an assist as the Spirit beat the Windsor Spitfires 5-3 on Saturday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

The victory snaps Saginaw's eight-game losing streak.

Kris Bennett and Markus Niemelainen had a goal and two assists each for the Spirit (9-15-2). Connor Brown added the other as Saginaw came back to score five-straight goals.

Markus Soberg, Christian Fischer and Aaron Luchuk opened the scoring in the first period for Windsor (16-7-3).

David Ovsjannikov started in net for Saginaw but was replaced after allowing two goals on seven shots in 8:24. Evan Cormier came on in relief and picked up the win by kicking out 18-of-19 shots in 51:36. Michael DiPietro made 36 saves for the Spitfires.

The Spirit were 2 for 4 on the power play, with Windsor scoring once on two chances.

OTTAWA — Jeremiah Addison had a goal and an assist as the 67's toppled Guelph.

Travis Barron, Evan de Haan and Nevin Guy also scored for Ottawa (16-9-1), which won its fourth in a row.

Luke Burghardt evened the game at 1-1 early in the first period for the Storm (2-21-1).

ERIE, Pa. — Dylan Strome had two goals and three assists to lead the Otters over Sault Ste. Marie.

Alex DeBrincat scored twice and added an assist for Erie (22-3-1), which won its third straight. Kyle Maksimovich and Vanya Lodnia also chipped in.

Bobby MacIntyre struck twice for the Greyhounds (9-12-3), who also got a goal from Colton White.

HAMILTON — Luke Kutkevicius scored the first of three goals in the second period for Mississauga as it toppled the Bulldogs.

Michael McLeod and Marcus Dickerson had the others in the second for the Steelheads (13-12-2), who got an empty netter from Alexander Nylander.

Matthew Strome opened the scoring for Hamilton (9-16-1).

SUDBURY, Ont. — Alex Nedeljkovic stopped all 43 shots he faced as Flint shut out the Wolves.

Connor Chatham had a power-play goal for the Firebirds (12-10-2), who won their third in a row. Cullen Mercer added an empty netter.

Zack Bowman turned aside 19-of-20 shots for Sudbury (5-18-3).

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Eric Cornel and Gerg Betzold both had two goals and an assist as the Petes got past Oshawa.

Jonathan Ang also scored for Peterborough (14-9-4), which improved to 8-0-1 in its last nine games.

Mitchell Vande Sompel found the back of the net for the Generals (10-14-3).

Zach Gallant of the Petes was assessed a match penalty for roughing at 18:24 of the third period.

BARRIE, Ont. — Jordan Maletta and Brendan Perlini both scored twice as Niagara downed the Colts.

Johnny Corneil also found the back of the net for the IceDogs (13-10-2).

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Sam Miletic struck twice as London won its third straight by beating the Attack.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Mitchell Marner and Christian Dvorak also scored for the Knights (17-4-2).

Liam Dunda scored his third of the season in the second period for Owen Sound (11-10-4).

Miletic was ejected at 7:44 of the third period after a major penalty for charging.
