LONDON, Ont. — Spencer Watson scored a hat trick as the Mississauga Steelheads downed the London Knights 7-3 on Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Owen Tippett had two goals and an assist for Mississauga (9-14-6), which also got three helpers from Nicolas Hague. Vili Saarijarvi and Scoley Dow rounded out the attack and Matthew Mancina made 34 saves.

Sam Miletic, Cliff Pu and Janne Kuokkanen found the back of the net for the Knights (19-4-5), who were on a 9-0-2 run entering the game.

Tyler Parsons took the loss by kicking out 15-of-19 shots in 29:33. Tyler Johnson went the rest of the way and made 11 saves.

The Steelheads were scoreless on four power plays while London went 2 for 5.

FIREBIRDS 3 WOLVES 1

SUDBURY, Ont. — Cullen Mercer scored the winner just before the midway point of the third period to lift Flint over the Wolves.

Hunter Holmes and Everett Clark, into an empty net, also chipped in for the Firebirds (15-13-2), who snapped a three-game losing streak. Connor Hicks made 27 saves.

Owen Gilhula responded late in the third for Sudbury (13-15-2) and Zack Bowman turned away 32-of-34 shots.

ATTACK 8 STORM 1

GUELPH, Ont. — Nick Suzuki had two goals and three assists and Kevin Hancock scored a hat trick with one helper as Owen Sound routed the Storm.

Petrus Palmu struck twice and added an assist while Justin Brack had the other for the Attack (17-13-1). Santino Centorame tacked on four helpers and Jonah Gadjovich had three assists. Michael McNiven made 23 saves.

Isaac Ratcliffe replied for Guelph (10-17-3). Anthony Popovich kicked out 20-of-26 shots in 40 minutes before giving way to Liam Herbst, who made seven saves.

Liam Stevens of the Storm was ejected and given a major penalty for charging in the third period.

RANGERS 3 FRONTENACS 2 (OT)

KITCHENER, Ont. — Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Jeremy Bracco scored the winner 50 seconds into overtime as the Rangers edged Kingston.

Jake Henderson, shorthanded, and Jacob Cascagnette had the other goals for Kitchener (18-9-2). Dawson Carty stopped 40 shots.

Jason Robertson and Sam Harding supplied the offence for the Frontenacs (13-12-3) and Jeremy Helvig made 26 saves.

Adam Mascherin of the Rangers was assessed a match penalty for slew footing early in the first period.

GENERALS 5 BATTALION 2

OSHAWA, Ont. — Jack Studnicka had two goals and an assist to lift the Generals past North Bay for their third straight win.

Domenic Commisso, Riley Stillman and Mitchell Vande Sompel rounded out the attack for Oshawa (19-7-2). Jeremy Brodeur turned aside 22 shots.

Brett McKenzie and Daniil Vertiy scored for the Battalion (15-13-2) and Julian Sime stopped 16-of-20 shots.

Robbie Burt of the Generals received a major penalty and game misconduct for charging in the first period.
