INDIANAPOLIS - Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says quarterback Aaron Rodgers and receiver Jordy Nelson should be ready for off-season workouts.

Rodgers had minor knee surgery last month, days after the Packers were eliminated from the playoffs. The two-time NFL MVP took part in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Feb. 13.

McCarthy joked to reporters on Thursday at the NFL combine that he thought Rodgers would be ready for the off-season program with "the way he's hitting the golf ball."

In college at California, Rodgers had surgery to repair a torn left ACL.

Nelson missed the 2015 season a right knee injury. McCarthy says Nelson is "way ahead of schedule" and should do some work in the off-season program.

Meanwhile, Eddie Lacy is relying on a popular workout to get his weight in check this off-season. McCarthy confirmed Lacy has been working with P90X founder Tony Horton this off-season, according to a report from ESPN.

“Eddie will take care of business,” McCarthy said. “I have great confidence that he will. I think we’ll see definitely a different guy in April, and more importantly in July.”
