WINNIPEG — Veteran Ondrej Pavelec made 32 saves for his first American Hockey League victory in over seven years as the Manitoba Moose beat the visiting Bakersfield Condors 5-4 on Thursday.
Pavelec, who was demoted to the minors by the Winnipeg Jets earlier this month, last won an AHL game on March 28, 2009 while a member of the Chicago Wolves. He's 1-0-1 with a 2.89 goals-against average and .918 save percentage in two AHL starts this season.
Jan Kostalek, Scott Kosmachuk, Jack Roslovic, Brendan Lemieux and Nicolas Petan supplied the offence for the Moose (2-1-1).
Joey Benik, Matt Benning, Jere Sallinen and Jujhar Khaira scored for the Condors (1-1-0), who got a 32-save outing from Nick Ellis.
Manitoba went 2 for 5 on the power play while Edmonton's AHL affiliate Bakersfield scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
