BATON ROUGE, La. - Police say a paternity test confirms former LSU offence tackle La'el Collins is not the father of a slain Baton Rouge woman's son.

Collins was an All-Southeastern Conference performer and top pro prospect, but was not selected in last week's NFL draft after police acknowledged they wanted to interview Collins about his prior relationship with 29-year-old Brittney Mills.

Mills was pregnant when gunned down at her home in late April. Her son, born alive, died days later.

Collins has never been named a suspect or a person of interest in the case. He is an NFL free agent, but his football future is unclear.

Police spokesman Don Coppola says investigators received DNA test results Wednesday, two days after Collins met with police, who say he has co-operated fully with investigators.
