QMJHL: Mandat leads Foreurs over Phoenix
Jan Mandat scored twice — including a short-handed, empty-net goal — and added an assist as the Val-d'Or Foreurs downed the Sherbrooke Phoenix 5-2 on Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

VAL-D'OR, Que. - Jan Mandat scored twice — including a short-handed, empty-net goal — and added an assist as the Val-d'Or Foreurs downed the Sherbrooke Phoenix 5-2 on Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Shawn Ouellette-St-Amant also scored shorthanded into an empty net for the Foreurs (6-3-1) while Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Mathieu Nadeau rounded out the attack.
Julien Pelletier supplied both goals for Sherbrooke (3-5-1).
Etienne Montpetit stopped 20-of-22 shots in the victory.
Evan Fitzpatrick made 36 saves in defeat.
