VICTORIAVILLE, Que. - Jan Kostalek scored the winner with just 1:07 remaining in regulation as the Rimouski Oceanic became the first team to advance to the second round of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs with a 4-2 win over the Victoriaville Tigres on Wednesday.

Anthony DeLuca, Christopher Clapperton and Samuel Morin also scored for the top-ranked Oceanic, who swept Victoriaville 4-0 in its best-of-seven series, and Frederik Gauthier chipped in with three assists.

Gabriel Gagne and Martin-Olivier Cardinal supplied the goals for the Tigres.

Rimouski's Philippe Desrosiers made 26 saves for the win as Chase Marchand stopped 33-of-36 shots for Victoriaville.

The Oceanic went 0 for 3 on the power play while the Tigres converted once on three chances of their own.

PHOENIX 2 ISLANDERS 1

CHARLOTTETOWN — Alex Bureau made 38 saves as Sherbrooke edged the Islanders to take Game 4 and tie its first-round series 2-2.

Jeremy Roy scored the first goal for the Phoenix and then assisted on Tim Wieser's eventual winner.

Luc Deschenes scored the lone goal for Charlottetown, which got a 29-save performance from goaltender Daryl MacCallum.

Game 5 goes Friday in Charlottetown.

MOOSEHEADS 4 CATARACTES 3

HALIFAX — Timo Meier had two goals and an assist and Eric Brassard made 46 saves as the Mooseheads toppled Shawinigan in Game 4 of their first-round matchup.

Danny Moynihan and Taylor ford each added a goal and an assist for Halifax, which tied the series 2-2, while Nikolaj Ehlers tacked on two helpers.

Gabriel Slight led the Cataractes with a pair of goals and Dennis Yan had the other. Marvin Cupper Kicked out 35-of-39 shots in defeat.

Shawinigan's Alex Pawelczyk was assessed a game misconduct for checking from behind at 16:04 of the first period.

Halifax hosts Game 5 on Friday.

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Julien Nantel scored the winner 6:19 into the third period as the Huskies slipped past Val-d'Or in Game 4 to even their first-round series 2-2.

Alexandre Fortin also scored for Rouyn-Noranda while Samuel Harvey made 36 saves for the win.

Shawn Ouellette-St-Amant struck for the Foreurs. Keven Bouchard turned away 31-of-33 shots in defeat.

Val-d'Or hosts Game 5 on Friday.

WILDCATS 3 SAGUENEENS 1

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Stephen Johnson scored the go-ahead goal at 16:56 of the third period and Alex Dubeau made 30 saves as Moncton downed the Sagueneens in Game 3 of its first-round series.

Ivan Barbashev and Zachary Malatesta also found the back of the net for the Wildcats, who lead the series 2-1.

Janne Puhakka supplied the offence for Chicoutimi. Julio Billia stopped 31-of-33 shots in a losing cause.

Game 4 is Thursday in Chicoutimi.

ARMADA 4 OLYMPIQUES 1

GATINEAU, Que. — Danick Martel scored once and set up two more as Blainville-Boisbriand evened its first-round series with the Olympiques 2-2 with a Game 4 victory.

Philippe Sanche, Nikita Jevpalovs and Emil Aronsson also scored for the Armada, who got a 15-save outing from Samuel Montembault.

Gatineau got its lone goal from Alexandre Alain. Francois Brassard gave up four goals on 16 shots before giving way to Nicolas Lachance, who stopped all 10 shots he faced in a period of relief.

Blainville-Boisbriand welcomes the Olympiques on Friday for Game 5.
