SYDNEY, N.S. - Anthony Sorrentino and Pierre-Luc Dubois both scored twice as the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles stormed past the Gatineau Olympiques 5-2 on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Maxim Lazarev had a goal and two assists for Cape Breton (5-3-1), while Alexandre Belanger made 36 saves.

Yakov Trenin and Alexandre Alain replied for Gatineau (6-2-1). Bo Taylor stopped 24 shots in net for the Olympiques.

Alain's goal at the 18:07 mark of the first period gave Gatineau a 2-1 lead. The Screaming Eagles then reeled off four unanswered goals — including both of Sorrentino's — to rally to the win.

Cape Breton went 2 for 8 on the power play, while the Olympiques were 1 for 5 with the man advantage.

MONCTON, N.B. — Anthony Beauvillier had a pair of goals and Dennis Yan scored once and set up two more as the Cataractes downed the Wildcats.

Brandon Gignac and Alex Pawelczyk also scored for Shawinigan (7-2-0), which got a 23-save outing from Frederic Foulem.

Stephen Johnson struck twice for Moncton (6-3-0) and Kelly Klima had the other. Zachary Fortin stopped 22 shots in defeat.

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Kristian Afanasyev scored twice and Benjamin Gagner had a goal and two helpers as the Voltigeurs handed Halifax its fifth straight loss.

Michael Carcone and Eric Theander also scored for Drummondville (7-2-0) as Nicolas Lachance made 22 saves.

Cavan Fitzgerald, Danny Moynihan and Maxime Fortier had a goal and an assist apiece for the Mooseheads (1-6-2). Ilya Putintsev had the other while Kevin Resop kicked out 35-of-40 shots in a losing cause.

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Louis-Philip Guindon stopped all 29 shots he faced and turned aside six skaters in the shootout as the Oceanic shut out Charlottetown.

Hunter Moreau scored in the shootout for Rimouski (6-1-0), which has won six games in a row.

Matthew Welsh made 38 saves through regulation time and overtime for the Islanders (5-3-1) before giving up a goal to Moreau in the sixth round of the shootout.

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Matthew Boucher's second goal at 16:03 of the third broke a 5-5 deadlock and lifted Quebec over the Phoenix.

Olivier Garneau scored once and set up two more for the Remparts (4-3-1), who also got goals from Aaron Dutra, Derek Gentile and Zachery Moody. Bronson Beaton tacked on three assists and Callum Booth made 39 saves for the victory.

Julien Pelletier had two goals for Sherbrooke (3-4-1) while Vincent Deslauriers, Nicolas Poulin and Guillaume Gauthier scored the others. Alexandre Lagace turned away 34-of-40 shots in defeat.
