ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. - Stephen Johnson had a pair of goals as the Moncton Wildcats held on to defeat the host Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 5-4 on Saturday in Game 2 of their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal series.

The best-of-seven set is now tied 1-1 with Game 3 Tuesday in Moncton.

Will Smith, Kevin Klima and Vaclav Karabacek also scored for the No. 6 Wildcats, who got a 17-save outing from Keven Bouchard.

Zachary Lauzon, Nikolas Brouillard, Francis Perron and Jacob Neveu found the back of the net for the No. 1 Huskies. Chase Marchand stopped 26-of-30 shots in a losing cause.

Moncton went 0 for 6 on the power play while Rouyn-Noranda scored once on three chances with the man advantage.

The Wildcats played the final two periods of the game without defenceman Zachary Malatesta, who was ejected at the end of the first for abuse of the officials.

CATARACTES 7 SEA DOGS 1

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Anthony Beauvillier and Dennis Yan each scored twice as the Cataractes toppled Saint John in Game 2 to even their semifinal series 1-1.

Gabriel Sylvestre, Brandon Gignac and Alexis D'Aoust also scored for No. 2 Shawinigan and Cavan Fitzgerald added three assists. Philippe Cadorette made 26 saves for the win.

Matthew Highmore was the lone scorer for the No. 3 Sea Dogs. Marc-Antoine Turcotte stopped 26-of-31 shots in 46:37 of action before giving way to Alex Bishop, who made eight saves in relief.

Game 3 goes Tuesday in Saint John.
