The New York Rangers have traded defenceman Dylan McIlrath to the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenceman Steve Kampfer and a conditional seventh round pick.

Kampfer appeared in one game for the Panthers this season before being dealt to the Rangers, he tallied four minutes in penalties and was a -1 rating.  

In 134 NHL games split between the Panthers, Minnesota Wild and Boston Bruins, the 28-year-old has nine goals and 14 assists.

He was drafted in the fourth round, 93rd overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks.

McIlrath played one game this season for the Rangers and was held pointless with four penalty minutes.

The 24-year-old was picked 10th overall in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
