Toronto, ON  - The Boston Red Sox have optioned veteran outfielder Allen Craig to Triple-A Pawtucket.

The Red Sox acquired Craig at last year's trade deadline, and the 30-year-old outfielder has not been particularly productive in Boston.

In 24 games this season, Craig is hitting a horrid .135 with a .237 on-base percentage -- a far cry from the .300 hitter he was in St. Louis.

To fill his spot on the roster, the club recalled Jackie Bradley Jr. The slick-fielding outfielder struggled in his first full season in Boston last year, hitting just .198 with a .265 OBP. The 25-year-old was hitting .343 with a .393 OBP at Pawtucket this season.

The club also recalled pitcher Steven Wright and optioned pitcher Robbie Ross Jr. to Pawtucket.
