When promising running back William Powell went down to injury in the pre-season, Travon Van stepped in admirably for the Ottawa Redblacks. The team now has to hope third man up can do the same after Van landed on the six-game injured list Monday.

Van is out with a knee injury. Kienan Lafrance will likely take Van’s spot in the starting lineup.

Wide receiver and returner Jamill Smith and linebacker Olivier Goulet-Veilleaux were also placed on the six-game injured list by Ottawa Monday.

The Redblacks also added some CFL experience to their practice roster Monday, signing defensive back Tristan Jackson, running back Nic Grigsby, and quarterback Brett Smith.
