Coming off a breakthrough season, linebacker Rolando McClain’s free agent value took a hit when it was reported he facing a four-game fine for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

According to a report from ESPN, a player is fined for failing their third drug test and a fourth failed test results in a suspension.

The report states McClain is appealing the fine.

McClain was labeled a bust after immaturity and ineffectiveness ended his tenure with the Oakland Raiders three seasons after the team selected the now 25-year-old eighth overall in the draft. But after an extremely brief stint with the Baltimore Ravens and returning to school at Alabama for a spell, McClain resurrected his career in Dallas last season.

McClain finished with 81 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions with the Cowboys last season.
