Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey will be back with the team next year, according to NBC New York's Mitch Lawrence.

The 58-year-old was rumored to be on the hot seat this off-season after the Raptors were swept in the first round by the Washington Wizards.

This was Casey's fourth year in Toronto and second straight where he helped set a new franchise record for wins with 49. Toronto has won the Atlantic Division the past two seasons as well.

Despite the regular season success, the Raptors have failed to advance to the second round of the playoffs under Casey with their team defence being a problem area.

Toronto's assistant coaches include Nick Nurse, Bill Bayno, Jesse Mermuys, Tom Sterner, Jama Mahlalela and Alex McKechnie.
