Hard-throwing Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura might not be done with throwing at members of the opposing team.

Just a day after the 25-year-old plunked Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado with a 99 mph fastball, which resulted in a benches clearing brawl, Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that Ventura recently talked (in the Royals' clubhouse) about throwing at Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista next time they play each other.

"The people around Ventura rolled their eyes, tired of the bluster, done with the immaturity, hopeful he was playing fugazi instead of the on-field arsonist they’d seen too many times for their liking," said Passan in his column. "Among his teammates and in the Royals’ front office alike, they’ve long waited for Ventura to grow up, only to end up amazed at how he manages to plumb beneath even his own low standards."

Tuesday's incident against the Orioles was not Ventura's first scuffle on a baseball diamond.

In April 2015, Ventura had words with Los Angeles Angels centrefielder Mike Trout after he hit a single off him. Benches would clear when Trout scored later in the inning. Shortly after that incident, Ventura hammered Brett Lawrie of the Oakland Athletics with a fastball after he took out Alcides Escobar with a hard slide at second base. Ventura was tossed after benches cleared once again. In probably the most unusual incident, Ventura had beef with Chicago White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton last season after a simple groundout to the pitcher's mound and was suspended seven games for his actions.

Ventura has been ejected three times since the start of the 2015 season, only behind Bryce Harper who leads the league with four.

Last season's August series against the Blue Jays in Toronto had some fireworks as well with bench brawls and Twitter feuds.

The Royals and Jays play at the Rogers Centre from July 4-6.
