ORLANDO, Fla. — A person familiar with the negotiations says swingman Evan Fournier has agreed to a five-year contract to remain with the Orlando Magic.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Friday because the deal cannot be finalized until at least July 7, when the NBA's off-season moratorium on player movement ends. Earlier this week, the Magic extended a qualifying offer to Fournier in order to be able to match any offers he received.

But the Magic and Fournier didn't allow it to get that far. The Magic had made it known that re-signing Fournier was a top priority. And Fournier, who was seen working out at the Magic's practice facility on Thursday, has insisted he wanted to remain with the Magic.
