Morne Steyn was timely as South Africa continued its perfect run at the 2014 Rugby Championship with a 33-31 victory over Argentina on Saturday.

The Springboks overcame a 12-point deficit in the 55th minute to claw back within one point in the 73rd.

Substitute flank Marcell Coetzee scored a try off a driving maul to give South Africa a lead in the 68th, but a long penalty from Marcelo Bosch would undo the lead and give Argentina a one-point advantage with just seven minutes remaining in the match.

However, Steyn would complete South Africa's thrilling win with a penalty just three minutes from the final whistle, securing the 33-31 score.

With the victory, South Africa stays atop the table with eight points. The toughest part of their schedule awaits after the bye week, though, as the Springboks travel to Perth to face Australia on Sept. 6 before a date with the All Blacks in Wellington on the 13th.
