CALGARY - Marat Khayrullin scored the only goal of the shootout as Russia downed the Canadian under-20 squad 3-2 on Wednesday at the national teams' development camp.

Mikhail Yuzeev and Alexander Protapovich scored in regulation time for Russia, which got a 23-save outing from Alexander Georgiev.

The teams got into a rare scuffle during the traditional post-game handshake line. The argument stemmed from Russian Egor Korshkov batting a puck out of mid-air with his hand after a shootout attempt. Officials had to separate the teams in the middle of the handshake line and sent both countries to their dressing rooms before the handshakes were completed.

Spencer Watson and Travis Dermott supplied the scoring for Canada while Josh Ho-Sang picked up an assist on both goals.

Samuel Montembeault turned away 18-of-20 shots for the Canadians, who will host the Czech Republic on Thursday to wrap up the four-game exhibition series between the three countries.

Russia went 0 for 2 on the power play as Canada scored once on four chances with the man advantage.

Canada beat Russia 4-1 on Monday and followed that up by crushing the Czech Republic 7-1 on Tuesday.
