PORTLAND, Ore. - Oliver Bjorkstrand scored three times and set up one more as the Portland Winterhawks held on to defeat the visiting Tri-City Americans 7-5 on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.

Adam Henry, Paul Bittner, Nicolas Petan and Alex Schoenborn also scored for the Winterhawks (28-19-3), who extended their win streak to five games.

Ty Comrie, Jordan Topping, Tyler Sandhu, Justin Gutierrez and Parker Bowles supplied the offence for the Americans (24-23-2).

Portland's Adin Hill made 27 saves as Evan Sarthough turned away 38-of-44 shots for Tri-City.

The Winterhawks went 1 for 6 on the power play while the Americans failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

SASKATOON — Nik Amundrud made 24 saves and Nick Stovin's goal 1:09 into the game stood up as the winner as the Blades blanked Prince Albert to extend their win streak to five games.

Garrett Armour and Josh Uhrich added third-period goals for Saskatoon (14-29-3).

Nick McBride stopped 35-of-38 shots for the Raiders (19-27-1), who dropped their fourth game in a row.

CALGARY — Brendan Burke kicked out all 33 shots his way while Jake Virtanen and Elliott Peterson each scored twice as the Hitmen crushed Vancouver.

Kenton Helgesen, Chase Lang, Adam Tambellini and Terrell Draude also scored for Calgary (27-17-5), which extended its win streak to four games, while Jake Bean tacked on four assists.

Payton Lee stopped 10-of-13 shots for the Giants (20-27-2) before giving way to Cody Porter, who allowed five goals on 20 shots in 38:43 of relief.

EDMONTON — Trevor Cox, Matt Bradley and Cole Sanford each had a goal and an assist as Medicine Hat handed the Oil Kings their fourth loss in as many outings.

Davis Koch and Tyler Robertson supplied the scoring for Edmonton (22-21-6) as Patrick Dea turned aside 23-of-28 shots in defeat.

Medicine Hat defenceman Ty Stanton received a major penalty and game misconduct at 10:50 of the second period for an illegal check to the head.

CRANBROOK, B.C — Levi Cable and Tim Bozon each struck twice and Keelan Williams made 26 saves as Kootenay downed Prince George for its fourth straight victory.

Jaedon Descheneau scored once and set up two more for the Ice (26-22-1) and Austin Wellsby and Zak Zborosky added the others.

Chase Witala, Jansen Harkins, Aaron Boyd and Josh Connolly scored for the Cougars (20-29-2) while Harkins and Connolly each tacked on two assists for three-point outings. Tavin Grant made 33 saves for Prince George, which dropped its 10th game in a row.

SPOKANE, Wash. —Taran Kozun made 20 saves and Donovan Nuels scored the eventual winner 9:09 into the first period as Seattle handed the Chiefs a sixth straight defeat.

Shea Theodore also scored for the Thunderbirds (23-18-6) and assisted on Nuels' winner.

Tyson Verhelst kicked out 25-of-27 shots for Spokane (23-20-4).
