Blue Jays Series Notes:

- The Blue Jays went 8-5 in the season’s final 2 weeks (tied for 5th in MLB). But they were last in the majors in scoring in September/October, averaging 3.7 runs per game.

- This is the 112th major-league postseason, and according to Elias, the Blue Jays are the 3rd team ever to make the postseason after finishing last in the majors in runs per game in September/October.

The 2012 Reds (lost in the NLDS) and the 1974 Athletics (won the World Series) are the other teams to do it.

- But while their offence has suffered, their starting pitching has been outstanding, posting a 3.27 ERA since the start of September (2nd in MLB).

And since Francisco Liriano returned to the rotation 3 weeks ago, the starters have a 2.08 ERA in 21 games, the lowest in the majors.

 Rangers Series Notes:

- The Rangers went 36-11 in one-run games this season, the best record in one-run games in MLB history (min. 20 one-run games played).

- That means they were 59-56 in games decided by two runs or more this season, a record that would've place them 9th in the AL this season, behind the Yankees and Astros.

- And with a run differential of +8 this season, they were actually outscored by 17 runs in all games other than games decided by one run.
