The Los Angeles Angels released Wayne Gretzky's son Trevor Saturday, according to a report from Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com.

Gretzky, a 23-year-old outfielder, batted .242 with two home runs and 21 RBIs for the Class A Burlington Bees last year.

Gretzky was originally drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the seventh round in 2011. He was traded to the Angels organization two years ago for Matt Scioscia, son of Angels manager Mike Scioscia.
