Chicago, IL - Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a fractured left ankle.

The Blackhawks said Rozsival is expected to make a full recovery and could be ready for the start of next season in October.

"The procedure went very well and we anticipate him returning to full hockey activities in approximately 12-16 weeks," said Blackhawks head team physician Dr. Michael Terry.

Rozsival was hurt in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals against Minnesota when he fell while trying to defend a rush by the Wild's Thomas Vanek.

The 36-year-old Czech native had one assist in 10 games this spring.
