The Chicago Blackhawks suffered a 5-0 blowout defeat on Saturday and now head to Nashville facing a 2-0 series deficit against the Predators.

The Blackhawks, who averaged 2.93 goals per game in the regular season, have been shut out have yet to score in the series and are starting to feel the pressure.

"That was frustration to a different level," head coach Joel Quenneville said after Saturday's loss. "That wasn't fun to watch. We dug ourselves a tremendous hole. Across the board, not too many positives came out of (Saturday's) game. Everybody was responsible, from the coaches down to every single player.

"We need to get out of this mess and hole."

Captain Jonathan Toews has thrown five of the team's 59 shots at Pekka Rinne through two games. He said after Saturday's loss the Blackhawks are entering desperation mode ahead of Game 3.

“We’ve been in some tough spots before,” Jonathan Toews said. “Didn’t think after two games at home that we’d be talking about this already, that it’s do-or-die, but we’re going to go into that next game with that mentality.

"For us, it's getting back to that desperate energy, the scratching-and-clawing, whatever-it-takes type of hockey."

Game 3 will take place Monday night in Nashville, where the Predators went 24-9-8 this season.
