The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Daniel Carcillo to a one-year deal worth $500,000, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.

The 29-year-old appeared in 57 games last season with the Los Angeles Kings (26) and New York Rangers (31), scoring four goals and one assist for five points to go along with 100 penalty minutes and 121 hits. He also collected two goals in eight playoff games in the Rangers run to the Stanley Cup finals.

Carcillo returns to the Blackhawks where he won a Stanley Cup in 2013. He scored four goals and 10 assists for 14 points with a plus-11 rating in 51 regular-season games with Chicago from 2011-2013 and added one assist in four playoff games.

Selected in the third round (73rd overall) by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2003 draft, Carcillo has scored 44 goals and 48 assists for 92 points with 1,179 penalty minutes in 390 career games with the Arizona Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Blackhawks, Kings and Rangers.

The Blackhawks also cut their roster down to 27 players today, sending forward Tuevo Teravainen and defenceman Klas Dahlbeck to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs.

The team now hosts 15 forwards, nine defenceman and three goalies on it's active roster.
