Blue Jays acquire minor-league SS Torreyes from Astros
The Toronto Blue Jays acquired shortstop Ronald Torreyes from the Houston Astros on Friday for cash considerations or a player to be named later. In 521 games over six minor-league seasons, the 22-year-old native of Barinas, Venezuela, has a .303 career batting average and .773 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Torreyes has a .200 average this season with triple-A Fresno in the Pacific Coast League.
The Blue Jays also announced Friday that shortstop Jonathan Diaz cleared outright waivers.
