John Gibbons will send J.A. Happ to the mound for Game 2 of the ALCS against the Cleveland Indians, and Marcus Stroman for Game 3 in Toronto.

Gibbons announced his decision on Thursday, leaving Aaron Sanchez as the team’s starter for Game 4, which will also be played at home.

Happ won 20 games in the regular season and picked up another win in Game 2 of the ALDS. The 33-year-old who joined the Jays as a free agent allowed nine hits to the Rangers but allowed just one run in five innings of work. Happ posted an ERA of 3.18 in 32 regular season starts. He was credited with four losses on the year.

Stroman got his last start in the Blue Jays’ wild-card win over the Baltimore Orioles on Oct. 4. He allowed two runs on four hits in six innings of work, his lone mistake being a two-run home run given up to Mark Trumbo in the 5-2 win. Stroman, 25, was 9-10 in the regular season with an ERA of 3.91. He will take the mound on 12 days rest in Game 3.

Sanchez struggled in Game 3 of the ALDS against the Texas Rangers, allowing six runs on hits in 5 2/3 innings. He was dominant, however, throughout the regular season with an American League-best ERA of 3.00. The 24-year-old posted a 15-2 record during the 2016 season, his first as starter.

The Indians announced Wednesday Trevor Bauer will take to the mound for Game 2 and Josh Tomlin will get the nod for Game 3. Mike Clevinger is “penciled in” for Game 4, but he could appear out of the bullpen in one of the first three games. The team is without injured starters Carlos Carrasco and Danny Salazar for the series.

Marco Estrada will start Friday night’s Game 1 for the Blue Jays, while Cleveland will counter with Corey Kluber.

Gibbons said at his news conference on Thursday second baseman Devon Travis is feeling fine. Travis was diagnosed with a bone bruise after Game 2 of the ALDS, but is expected to be placed on the ALCS roster.

The Blue Jays have not released their roster for the ALCS, which could include pitcher Francisco Liriano. Liriano was pulled from the ALDS roster after Game 2 due to a concussion, but is eligible to return for Game 2 against the ALCS. The club is planning to have further tests on Liriano on Friday before making their decision. If the team chooses to have Liriano on the roster, only 24 players will dress for Friday's night game and the lefty will join the roster on Saturday, should he be cleared to play.
