St. Louis Blues forward Patrik Berglund will have surgery on his right shoulder Friday and will be re-evaluated in four months, the team announced Thursday.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury while training for the upcoming season. Berglund dislocated his shoulder during the 2013-14 season.

Berglund scored 12 goals and added 15 assists over 77 games in 2014-15, his seventh with the Blues. The native of Sweden has a career 118 goals and 129 assists over 513 career regular season games in St. Louis. He also has 13 points in 29 career postseason games.   

The team also announced they've invited veteran forward Scott Gomez to training camp on a professional tryout basis. The 35-year-old scored seven goals and added 27 assists over 58 games with the New Jersey Devils in 2014-15. Gomez is a veteran of 15 NHL seasons with the Devils, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, San Jose Sharks and Florida Pathers.

The Blues also invited Spencer Asuchak, Eriah Hayes, Zach O’Brien and Evan Trupp to their 2015 training camp.
