Forward David Booth will make his regular season debut on Wednesday when the Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Booth has been on injured reserve since early October with a broken foot. He was recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL on Monday, after a two-game conditioning stint.

Depending on x-ray results and medical clearance, forward Joffrey Lupul (broken hand) could also make his return to the lineup for Toronto.

However, the Leafs will be without defenceman Roman Polak, who suffered a knee injury on Saturday. According to TSN's Jonas Siegel, the initial prognosis is Polak will miss four weeks with a left knee strain.

Korbinian Holzer was recalled from the AHL on Monday and will take Polak's spot on the blue line.

The team also announced that they have assigned forward Josh Leivo to the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
